Healthier Living Workshop
This is a free 6 week (2.5 hours per week) workshop, developed by Stanford University, to show adults with chronic conditions how to self manage their health. The goal is to have participants be proactive in their care, develop a new relation with their medical providers, learn and practice new tools for 3 areas of self management- their health, daily life and emotional status. Topics covered range from healthy eating, physical activity, mind-body introduction, problem solving, better communication, better sleep, preventing falls and setting goals as they live with a chronic condition. It is non medical in nature, facilitated by 2 trained lay leaders and offered through out San Francisco at different sites and times during the year.
